Andreas Ayaß - Project manager
The art of engineering simply impresses me
3 questions for Andreas Ayaß
You've been at ENEX for 2.5 years, what do you do here?
I was initially a project engineer specializing in process engineering tasks, and now I'm a project manager. That's what I wanted to be which I had already mentioned as a goal in my job interview.
Why did you become an engineer?
Because I'm a technophile - always have been. When I go on vacation with my girlfriend and see a power plant, I always blurt out "Look at that chimney there" or "Look at those huge fans by that air-cooled condenser there", to which she replies "You've got to be kidding me".
I'm fascinated by big machines, ships, bridges - engineering simply impresses me. Now I can be part of it myself, that's the jackpot for me!
What's cool about ENEX?
The main reason I came here and feel so comfortable is that it's a start-up where I can help build something. This gives me a much greater impact than at a larger company and you meet on an equal footing. There aren't any extreme hierarchies and you can feel how you can make a contribution yourself - and also develop further.
The family atmosphere that you associate with a start-up is a reality here. I find it exciting because so much is happening, we are growing from month to month, a lot is changing - I like that!
